It's been one of the most controversial issues dividing rural America in years: carbon capture pipelines.
"Along the Route: A Pipeline Discussion" is a multi-part series of reports looking at everything from the companies that want to build them to those "for" and those "against" and a deeper dive into to carbon and ethanol industries at the center of the project. I spent several months digging into research in the Fall of 2022, before finally beginning to set up interviews in January 2023, with 4+min stories on a new topic airing twice weekly beginning in April. While I had hoped to do more with this series, this project will end with 12 packages with accompanying in-depth web articles due to the dissolve of our local newsroom. |

Participating in this 11-week course gave me a new respect for law enforcement, and a better understanding of why they make the choices they do. I truly believe this experience made me a better journalist. MORE: siouxlandnews.com/news/local/siouxland-news-anchor-shares-experience-during-sioux-city-citizen-police-academy# |
